Olympic track competition
Karin Thürig from the Cervélo-Lifeforce Pro Cycling Team took in the today's track qualification race over 3000 m individual pursuit the ninth place. The 36-year-old Thürig, who won the bronze medal in the time trial on Wednesday, finished in a time of 3:40,862 min and slipped just outside the next round with 1,3 seconds.
It was a good result for the sympathy Swiss rider, who was in the last years on the road races/time trials and had only one day to recover from her tough bronze medal race on Wednesday.
The eight best riders for the qualification will now start in the final tomorrow and fight for the Olympic medals.
