Sunday morning was the 3rd round of the UK National Series in Capernwray Lancashire. Gabby Day and Lizzie Armitstead were on the start line for one the toughest races in the UK. By keeping the pace very high on the long climb of Sunny Bank.

Before too long, a lead group of 6 riders had formed and Gabby and Lizzie worked well together to ensure a Global Racing victory. Gabby made an early move on the last climb of Sunny Bank and when she returned to the group, Lizzie powered away for her 5th win of the season. Gabby finished an impressive 4th and now both riders move onto the National Criterium Championships next weekend.

Meanwhile in Belgium the team were racing a double weekend of races in Belgium. Saturday saw 3 riders in the top ten in what was effectively a warm-up race for the GP Teilt-Winge on Sunday. This race is run in the town where the team have their European base, so good result is very important.

The first 3 laps were aggressive but with no major breaks. Then at the end of the 3rd lap, Helen Wyman went clear in a group of 2 and stayed away for the next 10 laps. Unfortunatly she was caught when entering the last lap, however the team were in the right position to ensure they were in the counter attack which stayed clear to the line, with Louise Moriarty easily winning the sprint.

This rounded off a great weekend for the team and now the team got to Holland for 3 day race in preparation for the National Championships the following week.

Global Racing will have riders competing in the National Championships in Holland (3), UK (7), Ireland (1), Japan (1) and Norway (1), so the team have some great opportunities over the next few weeks.

"Fear is something you have to learn to control and use to your advantage because everyone has it. The difference is how you let it affect you. You have to be confident. If I'm at the top of the course and I notice a racer with fear in her eyes, I go up to her and say, "Be strong and find the way of the peaceful warrior" your're gonna do great."
