Trophée d'Or.

by William Meertens last modified 27-08-2007 14:10

Bigla holds strong arms around the Tour. Bronzini wins with little difference from Henrion.

Stage one and two was dominated by Team Bigla. The Swiss pro team won both stages. Noemi Cantele taking the first stage and becoming leader. Brändli winning the second stage after escaping the peloton together with team mate Cantele and at first with Oenone Wood.

Stage three ended as expected in a sprint. Like every year when finishing in Orval, it was Belgium rider Ludivine Henrion to watch. And perhaps to beat. She was at the start very keen in winning this stage. After a very long sprint it was Giorgia Bronzini who finally won. Centimeters in front of, yes, Ludivine Henrion. Cantele stays in the lead for the start of the second stage of the day this afternoon.

"Don't be afraid of ignoring people's expectations of you. Don't be afraid of going fast and getting hurt. You can always wear black stockings to cover up the scars! You just have to forget what your parents taught you : stuff like being careful, looking good, and catching the best man available."

—Marla Streb
