1894
Women riding a bike enters a state to be accepted.
1894 -> 1895

1896

Susan B. Anthony (USA) : "Let me tell you what I think of bicycling. I think it has done more to emancipate women than anything else in the world." -- Quote coming from the New York World newspaper in 1896 --

1955
First record holder - 38,473 km - Novikova (RUS) - 07-07-1955 - Irkoetsk
1958
The first Road Worldchampionship started in Reims (FRA) and was won by Elsy Jacobs (LUX). On the Track in Paris (FRA) that year it was Galina Ermolaeva (USR/RUS) and Ludmila Kotchetova (USR/RUS) that won the first ever Worldchampionship Sprint and Pursuit.
1976
Yvonne Reynders (BEL) becomes the most successful Worldchampion with 4 titles and a total of 7 podium. places.
1984

La Grande Boucle Féminin (FRA) took place for the first time. It's the oldest and most troubled International Stage Race in the world.


1984
The women's cycling sport is as of now an official Olympic event. Connie Carpenter (USA) receives the first Olympic medal in Los Angeles (USA).
1985

Tour de l'Aude Cycliste Féminin (FRA) has started. It never missed one year since the start and became the biggest, most respected International Stage Race in the world.


1988
Seoul (KOR) delivered the first Olympic Sprint winner in the name of Erika Salumäe (URS/EST). During the Worldchampionships Track in Gent (BEL) it was Sally Hodge (GBR) that won the first Points race.
1990
The first Worldchampionship Mountain Bike was held in the US (Durango). Juli Furtado (USA) and Cindy Devine (CAN) wend home with the first Cross Country and Downhill medals.
1992
Petra Roßner (GER) became in Barcelona (ESP) the first Olympic Pursuit winner.
1993

Mary Jane (Miji) Reoch (USA) was tragically killed during a training ride on September the 11th.

1994
The first Worldchampionship Time Trial was won by Karen Kurreck (USA) in Agrigento (ITA).
1994

Michela Fanini (ITA) tragically died in a road accident. Brunello "papà" Fanini later decided to continue the love for this sport by organizing races. This resulted in a Trade Team and the Giro della Toscana.

1995
Félicia Ballanger (FRA) became the first Worldchampion 500m Track Time Trial winner in Bogota (COL).
1996
Last record holder - 48,159 km - Jeannie Longo (FRA) - 26-10-1996 - Mexico-city
1996

Beryl Burton (GBR) died of heart failure on 8 May during a training ride shortly before her 59th birthday.

1996
Atlanta (USA) was the host for the first Olympic Road Time Trial, Cross Country and Track Points Race. Zoulfia Zabirova (RUS/KAZ), Paola Pezzo (ITA) and Nathalie Lancien (FRA) took first place.
1998
Diana Zilliute (LTU) becomes the first World Cup overall winner. While Dede Demet Barry (USA) is the first World Cup winner in Sydney (AUS)
1998

Our first visit to an international women's race.

1999
11 teams are getting a Trade Team status.
2000
EQUIPE NÜRNBERGER (GER) drops the men completely to continue with the women only.
2000

Magali Pache (SUI) tragically died on September the 3th


2000

Nicole Reinhart (USA) tragically died on September the 17th during a road race.

2000
First Cross Worldchampionship took place in Sint-Michielsgestel (NED) and was won by Hanka Kupfernagel (GER)
2001
Jeannie Longo (FRA) equals the record of Yvonne Reynders with 7 Worldchampion podium places. Only Longo is the holder of 5 titles. Longo becomes in 2001 also the holder of 6 Worldchampion Time Trial podium places and wins her 4th Time Trial title.
2002
Copenhagen (DEN) had the honor of delivering the first Track Worldchampions in the disciplines Keirin and Scratch. Li NA (CHN) and Lada Kozlikova (CZE) were the lucky ones.
2003

The start of Ladies Cycling net to promote and support the women's cycling world. And receives in it's first year a Golden Deco Website Award.

2003
First record holder without aerodynamic modification - 46,349 km - Leontien van Moorsel (NED) - Mexico-city
2005

Amy Gillett (AUS) tragically died in a car accident on a training ride with her teammates on July the 18th.

2007
VLAANDEREN 2002 LADIES TEAM (BEL) and EQUIPE NÜRNBERGER - EMMI (GER) are the oldest Trade Teams now riding under the name of VLAANDEREN - CAPRISONNE - T INTERIM (BEL) and EQUIPE NÜRNBERGER VERSICHERUNG (GER). While there is a new record of 42 Trade Teams who have registered.
