Great victory for Kristin Armstrong from Cervélo-Lifeforce Team

16 March, 2008 –  The former time trial champion Kristin Amstrong (USA) from Cervélo-Lifeforce Pro Cycling Team claimed victory in a dominating manner in the Exeter Time Trial, which took place in the USA. She won the 40 km race in a total race time of 1.01.32 h, 4.17 minutes ahead of Alex Rhodes (Team High Road –Women) and almost 5 min ahead of Felicia Gomez (Aaron Pro Cycling).

"I'm not sure why I'm so fit right now because I had one of the worst winters in my entire career with so much snow back home in Idaho," said Armstong. "Sometimes I think that when you have to make your schedule based around bad weather it lends to better quality training because you put more into the work that you do."

After the Exeter competition, Armstrong is scheduled to join her Cervélo-Lifeforce team in a seven-week stint of European racing.

Result Time trial:

1 Kristin Armstrong (USA) Cervélo Lifeforce Pro Cycling Team 1.01.32 h
2 Alex Rhodes (Team High Road – Woemen) 4.17
3 Felicia Gomez (Aaron’s Pro Cycling Team) 4.52

"Let me tell you what I think of bicycling. I think it has done more to emancipate women than anything else in the world."
