New Riders and Season Opener for Global Racing

by William Meertens last modified 08-03-2007 19:19

Next weekend the European women’s racing calendar starts with Het Volk classic. Racing over a flat and cobbled 126 km course in West Flanders, Global Racing Team will be joined by one of its new signings, Nikki Harris.

This will be the second year the team have opened its season with the Het Volk and therefore should be in a good position to know what to expect.

The 2007 squad is already very strong and with new riders from Japan, Holland and Norway added to the team so hopes are very high for a great season.  As part of the continued progression of the team, Global Racing Team has added 4 new British riders to his squad.

The riders are:

  • Nikki Harris
  • Jo Rowsell (National U23 Road Race Champion)
  • Katie Curtis
  • Lizzy Armistead (National Criterium Champion)

These riders boost the squad numbers to 13 and complete the line-up for the 2007 road season.  ‘We are very excited about these final additions to our squad.  It gives us a great blend of youth and experience and it should be a very interesting season’.

Some of the riders are still studying in the UK and will join the team throughout the year for specific targets in their development and will receive a also good education in European racing.
