Kirsten Wild and Regina Bruins join the Cervélo-Lifeforce Pro Cycling Team

by William Meertens last modified 23-09-2008 10:22

The Cervélo-Lifeforce Pro Cycling Team is pleased to announce that the both Dutch riders Kirsten Wild and Regina Bruins will join the Team in the upcoming season.

The 25-year-old Kirsten Wild from Zwolle (NED), who is a strong rider in sprints and shorter time trials, is since three years a professional cyclist and is looking forward to the new challenges: “It is an honor for me to join the Cervélo- Lifeforce Pro Cycling Team which is one of the leading women teams of the last years. I like their dominant and attacking way of racing. All riders of the team are fantastic and professional persons and built a real team“, explained the likable Dutch cyclist, who won this year the „Omloop het Volk“ and finished third in the Tour of Flanders.

The second new face in the Cervélo-Lifeforce Pro Cycling Team in the 2009 cycling season will be the young talent Regina Bruins from Leiderdorp (NED). The 21-year old athlete draws attention to her in this season with her second place in the „Novilon Damensronde van Drenthe“ as well as the victory in the team time trial with the Dutch National Team at the second stage of “l’Aude Cycliste Féminin.”

“After four tremendous years we slowly start to make an alternation of generation in the team,“ said Thomas Campana, the Team Manager.”It is now time to do the long-term planning. Therefore we are very pleased to welcome the both outstanding athletes from the Netherlands’ and looking forward to a long-term collaboration!”

"Now that I am at the top of the women's fields I train with men. Training with men is extremely productive for me because it provides me the challenge to push harder, reaping nothing but stronger legs and the exhilaration of beating the guys!"
