- At the fourth edition of the GP Oberbaselbiet in Zunzgen (SUI), a race with a handicap modus, Sarah Düster (GER) took the fourth place. The juniors and U23 riders started with a time advantage ahead of the elite group and couldn’t catch up by their chasers. Emilie Aubry (SUI) won the race in the finish sprint ahead of Jessica Schneeberger (SUI) and Eva Haueter (SUI).

- The British rider Leda Cox has signed an initial one year deal with American Elite Women’s team, “America’s Dairyland” and will leave England in Early March to embark on a full season of American racing.

- At the UCI women’s World Cup in Vargarda, Sweden, Karin Thürig from the Cervélo-Lifeforce finished fourth. That was her third fourth place within a week. On the 12 x 11 km course, Kori Kelley Seehafer (USA) claimed victory ahead of Kim Anderson in the finish sprint. The third place took Charlotte Becker who came together with Thürig and two other riders 1,10min after the winner to the finish straight.

- Yesterday, for the first time the GP Mobilar/GP Aaretal, a national race in Switzerland, took place under sunny weather in Kirchdorf nearby Berne. The competition was carried out as a handicap race, what means that the juniors started with a time advantage to the amateur riders and the amateur started with an advantage to the elite racer.

- At the today’s Olympic Road Race in Beijing, three riders from the Cervélo-Lifeforce Pro Cycling Team Christiane Soeder (AUT), Priska Doppmann (SUI) and Kristin Armstrong (USA) were for their nation at the start. Over the challenging 126,34 km long course including the final laps next two the famous Chinese wall, 66 athletes from all over the world measured their shape in heavy rain conditions.

- Britain, Emma Pooley, gave Team Specialized a special gift on Easter Monday, winning the first European World Cup of the season. She won the „Trofeo Alfredo Binda“ a race of 121 km in legendary fashion. Pooley broke away from the peloton with 40km to go and never looked back. She finished with an advantage of 1’36“ over the chasing peloton led home by second place, Suzanne De Goede (Ned, Equipe Nürnberger Versicherungen) and third place, Diana Ziliute (Ltu, Safi Pasta Zara) .
